This keycap was born from love

It was created from the affection of a girl who wanted to make a special gift for her boyfriend on their anniversary.
It’s truly hard to describe how happy I felt while crafting something with such heartfelt meaning.

Her boyfriend is a photography lover, especially fond of vintage cameras, so I drew inspiration from classic Nikon models from past decades.
And by pure luck, I discovered that his keycap set is a warm reddish-brown — perfectly matching the color I had in mind: a deep brown-red tone with golden metallic accents, just like in the photos.
I really love this kind of coincidence.

From the photos she shared, you could tell he’s a cheerful, witty guy with a playful side — and also a cat lover.
He often sends his girlfriend funny cat pictures.
When I learned about that, I found it so endearing that I decided to include a small “cat through the lens” detail, as if the camera is looking at a mischievous little cat.

To make the gift even more special, I engraved their anniversary date around the black rim of the lens.
If you look closely, there’s a line of text etched around it — just like the markings on real camera lenses.
His name is also subtly engraved on the body of the camera, placed where a brand logo would usually be.

This is one of those projects that brought me so many emotions — from the joy of hearing the client’s excitement, to the quiet worry of whether the gift would truly be loved… and whether I might unintentionally ruin their special day if it wasn’t.
Thankfully, everything turned out beautifully — far beyond expectations.
It’s a memory I’ll always cherish.
